We are convinced that misfortune and poverty leading to lack of education leads to loss of opportunities where individuals would have utilized their God-given abilities for personal improvement and for the good of society in general. There is a lot of wasted talent in Africa because talented people are often denied the chance of putting their abilities to full use.

Millions of children around the world are denied an education simply because of who they are or where they live – and the ongoing pandemic has only worsened their circumstances.

• Nearly 10 million children have been forced out of school due to poverty caused by COVID-19.
• Without access to education, children struggle to escape the cycle of poverty and are at dire risk of early marriage, forced labor, or gender-based violence.
• Girls are likely to be much worse affected than boys by the impacts of being out of school.
